Think it through folks, “Texas is refusing to comply […].” (1.).
“Texas is refusing to comply with a cease-and-desist letter from the Biden administration over actions by the state that have impeded U.S. Border Patrol agents from accessing part of the border with Mexico” (1.).

So, how did Texas refuse to comply?
First, by letter.
“In a letter to the Department of Homeland Security, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton rejected the Biden administration’s request for the state to ‘cease and desist’ its takeover of Shelby Park, an epicenter of southwest border illegal immigration in Eagle Pass.
“’Because the facts and law side with Texas, the State will continue utilizing its constitutional authority to defend her territory, and I will continue defending those lawful efforts in court,’ Paxton wrote” (1.).
Second, by physical barrier, and by force.
Additionally, “[t]he dispute between the White House and Texas over immigration escalated last week after Texas governor Greg Abbott ordered a fence built around Shelby Park. Abbott also announced that border agents would no longer be allowed “on that property any more” (2.).

Why is Shelby Park important for the federal government?
As reported, Shelby Park is described as, “an epicenter of southwest border illegal immigration in Eagle Pass,” where the federal government wants full access to, “roughly 2½ miles of the U.S.-Mexico border occupied by the state's National Guard” (1.).
It seems pretty clear; the federal government wants full access to the area to facilitate illegal immigration, while the State of Texas wants to stop it.
The Biden’s Administration’s response?
“The Biden administration has threatened to refer the matter to the Justice Department if Texas denies Border Patrol agents full access to the area” (1.).

Again, think it through. What is the Biden Administration, or the DOJ for that matter, going to do in response to the State of Texas securing Shelby Park? Less a physical confrontation between law enforcement and or military assets, nothing but further paper drills.

Side-Note: What does the Biden Administration … cough, cough … want in return for any movement on securing the U.S. southern border?
“The latest political standoff at the border comes as Biden and congressional leaders met on Wednesday [January 17, 2024] about a possible bipartisan immigration bill.
“Biden met with Senate and House leaders from both parties about the potential immigration bill as his administration hopes to secure military aid for Ukraine through a brokered deal” (2.).
Sounds like that gravy … I mean … money-laundering scheme … I mean … “aid” to Ukraine … cough, cough … is really important to Biden, and Democrats.
