[RECENT ARCHIVES] MIDLIFE CRISIS-19, Friday, September 15, 2023 - Losses Up? Gas-Light a Non-EV Nation; The Irony.

The reality?

"Ford Motor Company announced that it is projected to lose $4.5 billion from electric vehicles this year, despite increased revenue.

"The U.S.-based automaker's EV division, called 'Ford Model e,' has lost $1.8 billion so far this year, according to Fortune" (1.).

That means that Ford is failing in business, not that the American consumer is failing to consume. American consumers are free, free to live - and consume - beyond the will of the State. That's how this works, not the other way around.

The headline is the propaganda, the deflection, and the gaslighting.

"Ford CEO says electric vehicles provoking 'charging anxiety'" (1.).

Oh, but that's not the end of it.

Toting the State party line, he goes on to blame Americans in more detail.

"The CEO of one of the country’s biggest car manufacturers explained why electric vehicles (EVs) may not be a lightning hit for consumers.

"'We’re going into the mass consumers who have a lot of charging anxiety,' Ford CEO Jim Farley warned when explaining the growing push for EVs.

"Farley joined "Special Report" on Tuesday to discuss the EV push as demand for the greener alternative has yet to peak.

"They [consumers] don’t have range anxiety, they have charging anxiety," Farley stressed again.

"The Ford CEO also suggested that consumers are "not willing to pay a premium" for electric vehicles, despite more being offered in today’s market.

"'Some customers who have the right duty cycle are really interested, but the price premium that we see a year ago is not there today,' he continued" (1.).

So let's tally that up.

Americans, "have a lot of charging anxiety," are, "not willing to pay a premium' for electric vehicles," and catch that next part, "despite more being offered in today's market." Lastly, the cream, "Some customers who have the right duty cycle are really interested." He then throws in a real whopper, "but the price premium that we see a year ago is not there today." That's a real crafty spin, because the premium might be less now, but a premium is in fact still there, so this amounts to more deflection, less value within the context of safety and infrastructure, so there is actually still insufficient price-to-value pairing.

So let's sum it up, EVs are not ready for the market, the manufacturing industry is still fleshing out the technology, there are still safety issues, and the charging infrastructure is non-existent in relation to the delusional expectation for demand. The infrastructure is hardly there for existing demand, because in real terms, consumers who operate out of their vehicles, those who have to rely on his or her vehicle to get things done, including earning a living, making life happen, the infrastructure is simply not there.

I guess meeting with The Big Guy was not enough.

"Last year, President Biden invited executives from the nation’s largest automakers to the White House to discuss his ambitious agenda for EVs" (1.).

Yes, an "agenda," got it ... wink, wink, nod, nod ... cough, cough.

Note to Self: These are industry problems, all of which the American consumer is all too wise.

"As the automaker grapples with the industry’s EV trend, its F-150 continues to reign supreme among buyers.

"It's the 'No. 1 vehicle in our country on sales for 41 years,' Farley said, adding that the truck is a "huge, important product" for the company and the U.S. economy.

"'We have a hybrid version which we think will be about 20% of sales. Maybe the best-selling hybrid in the U.S. could be an F-150 hybrid,' Farley continued" (1.).

If they make an F-150 hybrid, it will be un-buyable within the majority of their consumer base, and they likely know it.

Per kbb.com, "The base XL trim starts at $33,695, and the XLT model begins at $41,800. The Lariat trim starts at $57,480, and the King Ranch model starts at $63,005. The upscale Platinum model starts at $64,695, and the luxurious Limited model begins at $84,910" (2.).

Add "hybrid," and those prices are well on their way to $100,000.00 and beyond.

This isn't a news story, it's State-sponsored propaganda.
