MIDLIFE MINI-19, Sunday, June 02, 2024 – Mexico, Political Assassinations, and What is Next for America.
“In a nation where politics, crime and corruption are closely entangled, ultra-violent drug cartels have gone to extreme lengths to ensure that their preferred candidates win” (5.).
That is an excerpt from reporting in Reference (5.), talking about Mexico and their elections, but it could just as easily, and accurately, be written about America. The groundwork is already being laid by U.S. politicians who have enabled international criminal cartels complete access to the lower forty-eight. We have rampant organized crime operating throughout the United States. We are living in a real-world Gotham City.

In parallel, is it conspiratorial to suggest that the deaths of two (2) Boeing whistleblowers, both represented by the same Attorney, are suspicious, possible victims of corporate-related crimes (1., 2.)? When thirty-seven (37) political candidates – and counting – just south of the U.S. border have been assassinated in Mexico during their current election cycle, questioning the circumstances surrounding the Boeing deaths, where the stakes are also high, is not conspiratorial, it is rational (3.). Yet in America, inquiring about questionable circumstances, convenient corporate or political deaths, is met with gaslighting.

John Barnett, formally with Boeing, died by alleged suicide, Saturday, March 09, 2024, while Joshua Dean, formally with Boeing parts supplier, Spirit AeroSystems, died from an infection cocktail, Tuesday, April 30, 2024 (1., 2.).
Regarding Barnett, “Police in Charleston, S.C., are investigating the death of John Barnett, [62,] a former Boeing quality control manager who became a whistleblower when he went public with his concerns about serious safety issues in the company's commercial airplanes.
“Barnett's body was found in a vehicle in a Holiday Inn parking lot in Charleston on Saturday [March 09, 2024], police said. One day earlier [Friday, March 08, 2024], he testified in a deposition related to the string of problems he says he identified at Boeing's plant where he once helped inspect the 787 Dreamliner aircraft before delivery to customers.
“Barnett was in the middle of giving deposition testimony in his whistleblower retaliation case against Boeing when he died, his lawyers, Robert Turkewitz and Brian Knowles, told NPR” (1.).
---
“Barnett, 62, made international headlines in April of 2019 when he and other former Boeing employees spoke to The New York Times about what he called shoddy manufacturing problems at Boeing. Barnett accused the company of adopting a culture that prioritized raw numbers and profits over quality — and by extension, passenger safety” (1.).
***
Regarding Dean, “Joshua Dean, a former quality auditor at a key Boeing supplier who raised concerns about improperly drilled holes in the fuselage of 737 Max jets, has died.
“Dean, 45, died on Tuesday morning, his family announced on social media. His family told NPR on Thursday that Dean had quickly fallen into critical condition after being diagnosed with a MRSA bacterial infection” (2.).
---
“Dean was one of the first to flag potentially dangerous defects with 737 Max jets at Spirit AeroSystems, a major Boeing supplier that was spun off from the planemaker in 2005” (2.).
---
According to Dean’s Mother, Virginia Green, “’[t]he doctor said he'd never seen anything like it before in his life. His lungs were just totally ... gummed up, and like a mesh over them.’
“’We're not sure what he died of,’ she said. ‘We know that he had a bunch of viruses. But you know, we don't know if somebody did something to him, or did he just get real sick’” (2.).
Is it conspiratorial to suggest that Dean’s death sounds suspicious? It sounds rational to suggest that his death could have been the result of a bio-attack, that it is totally plausible that both Barnett and Dean were executed before any further testimony or interviews could be given that might put Boeing in financial jeopardy. When the stakes are that high, one would think that questioning their deaths would be fundamental to any thorough investigation, reasonable by any observer.

As for politics in Mexico, out of 70,000 candidates running for 20,000 positions, there have been thirty-seven (37) political assassinations this cycle – and counting – along with eight-hundred and twenty-eight (828) nonlethal attacks (3.).
Full excerpts:
“Mexico’s election is now the bloodiest in its modern history. It’s also the largest.
“A local government candidate in central Puebla state was killed on Friday, increasing the total number of candidates who have been assassinated to 37 ahead of Sunday’s vote, according to data from security consultancy Integralia obtained by Reuters.
“On June 2, Mexicans could elect their first woman president. It’s not just a presidential election, though. Across the country, there are more than 20,000 positions to fill and 70,000 candidates vying for the spots” (3.).
---
“Altogether, 37 candidates have been assassinated this election season — and that’s not counting failed assassination attempts, Reuters reported. Integralia counted 828 nonlethal attacks on political candidates during the current election campaign” (3.).
---
Additionally, “[t]wo people were reported dead on election day [today, Sunday, June 02, 2024] after attacks on polling stations to steal ballot papers” (5.).

What is the summary issue? Corruption, and the resulting unbridled violent crime.
“One of the top issues in this year’s presidential contest is violent crime. Outgoing President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has had to account for a persistently high murder rate, with his opposition arguing for change.
“Security analyst David Saucedo told the Associated Press that drug cartels will likely try to force voters to support their favored candidates.
“Cartels are becoming increasingly dangerous — they’re now well-armed and politically influential. According to a report translated by NPR, more than 30,000 people are murdered each year in Mexico, compared to roughly 18,500 in the U.S. in 2023,” [yet Mexico has approximately half of the population as the U.S.] (3.).

This is your homework assignment.
Read the following excerpt from Reference (4.), then read the whole reference for context, then ask yourself if this could just as well have been written about America? Is it America in the making? I would argue, yes.
“The country’s powerful drug cartels have long staged targeted assassinations of mayoral and other local candidates who threaten their control. Gangs in Mexico depend on controlling local police chiefs, and taking a share of municipal budgets; national politics appear to interest them less.
“But in the runup to Sunday’s vote, gangs have increasingly taken to spraying whole campaign rallies with gunfire, burning ballots or preventing the setting up of polling stations, and even putting up banners seeking to influence voters.
“Security analyst David Saucedo says it's likely some drug gangs will try to force voters to cast ballots for their favored candidates.
“’It it [sic] is reasonable to assume that the cartels will mobilize their support bases during Sunday's elections,’ Saucedo said. ‘They have loyal voters who they have won over through the distribution of food packages, cash, medicine and infrastructure projects. They will use them to support narco-candidates’” (4.).

We know that the international cartels are here, we know that organized crime is here – including our own home-grown criminals – along with corrupt elected officials, Judges, and law enforcement. We know that political lawfare is here; political assassinations are next.
