"It could take months for officials to identify what caused the fire in Maui last week. But some plaintiffs’ lawyers and investors have already begun to blame Hawaiian Electric, the state’s largest utility."

"Those lawsuits have spooked Wall Street traders who fear that the utility will not be able to shoulder liability claims that could add up to billions of dollars. Hawaiian Electric’s stock price has fallen about 68% since Aug. 7, the day before the wildfire started, to about $12 on Thursday" (1.).

"Impossible" is reconstituting dead people, "possible" would have been having an implemented "program" that included generators strategically in place to mitigate power outages.
"Hawaiian Electric has declined to comment in detail about the fires. But Hawaiian Electric CEO Shelee Kimura said at a news conference Monday that the company did not have a program that could shut off power preemptively to prevent wildfires. She said such a program would have required coordination with emergency workers. Power shut-offs would have made it impossible for people to use medical equipment, water pumps and other essential devices."
"'In Lahaina, the electricity powers the pumps that provide the water — and so that was also a critical need during that time,' Kimura said" (1.).
Note to Self: I am not sure that her comments will age well if in fact they are reported accurately, and are reflective of a lack of competence, blatant inaction, and profit over preservation of life.
